Why I wrote this page

Kin selection. You'll learn about it. Basically it means that my genes have a better chance of being passed on if I save 30 of my cousins and die myself. What this has to do with passing a course, I could not tell you. I passed it already. I'm done with it. I'm a nice guy.

I took this course in the spring of '98. I was very dissatisfied with how it used to be - you would dissect one specimen, your lab partners would dissect the others and you would teach each other about them. You would get a miniquiz at the end of the lab and that was the last you would see of the specimen until the lab practical. No wonder nobody has EVER gotten close to a perfect score on the lab practical. So, I went to Dr. Herreid with my idea - a website with pictures of dissected animals to help students study for the lab practical. Now, after months of work, I have a webspace (kindly donated by the libraries) with what I think is useful information to help you do well in this course.

This page is the culmination of the efforts of many people. I would like to thank:
